Sign My Name to Freedom
About this event

The GNV Book Discussion Group will explore Betty Reid Soskin's engaging memoir,
Sign My Name to Freedom. Now 100 years old, and the longest-serving ranger in the National Park System (some of you know her from the Rosie the Riveter Museum in Richmond), Ms. Soskin chronicles the challenges of living as a Black woman from the Jim Crow era through the Civil Rights movement to the BLM protests today. She carried her great-grandmother's slave identity papers in her pocket while attending the inauguration of Barack Obama. A very informative, satisfying read! Villager
Patty Allen will lead the discussion.
Location TBA.
