Horse, by Geraldine Brooks
About this event

Marge Leaonard's home, 487 School St. Please come masked.
Did you know that at one time two of the three New York newspapers were devoted to horse racing? That's how popular the sport was. The GNV Book Club’s selection is
Horse, by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Geraldine Brooks. This work of historical fiction features three different timelines. It is the true story of a remarkable 19th century thoroughbred, Lexington, revealing much not only about horses but also our nation's history of racism. Villager Marge Leonard will lead the discussion, which will be held at her home. Do note that the meeting date has been set a week later than usual in order to avoid conflict with Veteran’s Day. We had a delightful turn-out for Something to Live For and look forward to more of the same!
