The best-selling writer of The Four Winds and The Nightingale, Kristin Hannah, has released yet another popular novel, The Women. The first half of the work focuses on the experiences of a female volunteer nurse, Frankie McGrath, in the Vietnam conflict. Predictably, much of the narration rotates around horrifying battlefield details. The second portion reveals the excruciating after-effects experienced when the protagonist returns to the States to a deeply divided country.
