At the invitation of the City of Fremont, on April 11, 2024, fourteen GNV members participated in an Age-Friendly City focus group, sharing our unique and valuable insights about the ways Fremont could become increasingly Age-Friendly. Thank you for your time, Villagers!
The Age-Friendly Fremont action plan is Fremont’s collaboration with the World Health Organization’s Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities. Cities participating in the Age-Friendly Network commit to assessing and improving their age-friendliness in nine domains.
Facilitated by Karen Grimsich of the City of Fremont’s Aging and Family Services, Human Services Department, the focus group discussed two domains:
- Community Information
- Employment and Learning Opportunities.
More information about the Age-Friendly City domains and the flip chart notes from the Focus Group can be found here: Notes from Age-Friendly Mtg
