Engaging for Tomorrow

Annual Meeting
October 1, 2024

Twenty-nine Villagers gathered to celebrate the creation of Greater Niles Village 6 years ago by our members, for our members, and enjoy a light supper together. Our goal is to revolutionize our experience of aging and to remain in charge of our lives as we age.  All Villagers received information packets which included the  past year’s accomplishments, operational and financial results and program highlights.

The theme of the Annual Meeting was Engaging for Tomorrow, and your Board focused this year’s presentations on plans for the future. First, Kathy Steel-Sabo presented GNV’s exciting and meaningful goals for the next 5 years.  These are the result of visioning work by your Board of Directors. Then Jan Quilici, Barbara King, Susan Meadows and Iris Nicholson told stories of how getting involved with GNV has led to new friendships and provides meaning and purpose in their lives.

As outlined in the new GNV Organization document, there are fulfilling opportunities for every Villager to engage in and to derive great satisfaction from creating the next phase of GNV. Villages flourish when each and every member contributes their time, energy and life experience to fellow Villagers.

You will be pleased to know two Villagers will be joining the GNV Board:  Beth Rasler and Paula Hague.

We welcomed special guests from the City of Fremont: Levon Gibson, Family Services Administrator, and Mercel Amin, Senior Program Coordinator. Thanks to Niles Discovery Church for making the Fellowship Hall available for our event.
