The Culture Club
Autumn is traditionally the beginning of a vibrant arts season in the Bay Area and in many other cities. Due to the pandemic, most venues are shuttered. If you are interested in visual and performing arts—theatre, opera, music, dance, art—welcome to The Culture Club. We’ll talk about memorable arts experiences and share how we’re nurturing our passions while sheltering in place. This is the start-up meeting for GNV’s Culture Club, led by Villager Sue Meadows.  The group will decide about continuing with on-line meetings, and then in-person activities, once the shelter-in-place is lifted.

Tradition Looks Different in 2020
We have end-of-year traditions that we look forward to, yet this year, things are different. Time with friends and family may be subject to new ways of interacting. Activities could become virtual or be cancelled altogether. How do we adapt gracefully and move forward when we have to pivot — yet again?

Food, Glorious Food
The end of the year brings celebrations for many faiths and cultures. Key to these festivities is traditional foods. Tell us about your favorites—whether created from a recipe handed down through generations or culled last year from a food blog. No matter the role and significance of the dish, they all include one common ingredient—love.

Take Charge of Your Tech
October 27
1:00 - 2:30 pm
Master your electronic devices with help from the Cybergeezers of SIR (Sons in Retirement). Meetings start with a presentation and discussion about using various devices, software, cybersecurity, etc. The presentations are followed by time for those with more tech expertise to help individuals with problems and "how to" questions.

The City of Fremont’s Human Services Department received a very large donation of surgical face masks and face shields and wanted to get them out to seniors as quickly as possible. Greater Niles Village is helping with distribution. They are available to our Members and Volunteer Service Providers and Niles Canyon Mobile Estates. If you have not received your masks, please email or call 510-936-0214 for assistance.

The essence of a Village is connecting with others. Share this information with a friend or neighbor.
